Words we write. Sometimes they turn into songs…sometimes they don’t.

“Lost and lingering leaves are we, killing time before the fall.”
We Are Ghosts… (lyrics I left out)
We Are Ghosts
It’s not like you’re a friend of mine but i think i know the score too much wine and we’re thick as thieves you steal mine and i steal yours so let’s take a train to the sea and drink bottled beer by the beach just the seagulls, salt, you and me make believe we are free It’s not like you could find the time but i know you’ve found the thoughts locked away in that rock pool brain where those fishes can’t be caught so let’s take a train to coast and write postcards we’ll never post and catch a breeze till we float make believe we are ghosts and see what we could find and this real life you could leave behind and just for a day we could run away and hide It’s not like you’re a friend of mine
all my friends are far too close

My First Love woke up in the garden shed curled up on a make-shift bed our fingers and toes intwined three drinks and we lost track of the time you said you would never leave carved promises into apple trees for me but I’m ruthless I’m a fool I think I left my heart at school my first love would have saved the people my first would have parted seas my first love would have sailed to china and back again for me my first love was a fearless soldier my first love would have won hands down but he’s back there with a wife and children back in my home town we’d wander about for hours brave winter and april showers broke curfews and house-hold rules I’d climb walls in a party dress for you I knew you would never leave you wore crosses and hearts upon your sleeve but I’m ruthless I’m a fool I left you standing there at school my first love would have saved the people my first would have parted seas my first love would have sailed to china and back again for me my first love had a bow and arrow my first love would have won hands down he’ s there a forgotten stranger back in my home town and he would call three times when there were no more words and nothing left to say but I’m ruthless I”m a fool i think I lost my heart at school hide and seek my soul to keep theses games we play we’ve lost our way we fight and cry we say goodbye for days gone by a lullaby
